DARA GANNON Ms. Dara Gannon graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago majoring in art education and ceramics. She worked for Chicago Public Schools as a high school art educator for the past six years. She currently works with K-5 students at Edmund's Academy of Fine Arts in Des Moines, Iowa. Dara has developed curriculum, served on the Local School Council, received several grants, attended and led professional development activities, hosted an annual silent auction to benefit Vaughn's art education program, was a teacher liaison for Gallery 37, was a mentor teacher in the Golden Teacher Program and has developed partnerships with Wright College, Intuit Gallery and the Des Moines Art Center. Dara received her National Board Certificate in Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood Art in 2004, making her one of only 20 teachers in the state of Iowa with this prestigious certificate. Dara is also a working artist and owner of "Halo Pottery by Dara".
